Miami was supposed to be under water by now if you lived in the 1990s.

Wouldn't it be a hoot if she is right — but not because the oceans rise but because the land falls?
Port Royal was a hive of scum and villainy just like Miami.

The oceans do rise, so?
A colleague of mine just returned from Venice. He says 90% of all buildings are damaged by recent repetitive flooding; centuries old plaster walls now washed away by the rising seas. But no, the land may be sinking. Ha ha stupid climate change believers. The mental gymnastics some go through to avoid the obvious is impressive.

That's what you get for build your city at sea level on top of the sea.
Plus they have been sinking. At least the Netherlands has a wall so there is a chance the seas can be held back for a little while longer, but eventually the inevitable fate will be realized. Yet people still live in these places. Yes, stupid climate change believers indeed. You say all these things and take no action.

It needs to be against code to rebuild these non-resilient places whenever they get destroyed by a storm.

About living at sea level.
We always lived at sea level. We recently discovered a Roman road nearby (Vianen) deep in the ground, well below our current sea level, but permanently dry in Roman times 21 centuries ago and up until recently. It would still be above sea level if we had not burned fossil fuel over the last 2 centuries. So, must we flee for mindless spillage, or must we fight it? I banned Oil Pan for a reason, but I just viewed his blocked message anyway. It just confirms I did the right thing.
