My understanding at the moment (which changes since the scientific method consistently brings about new evidence) is that the mortality rate of CoVid-19 is similar to the flu, or about 0.01%. Herd immunity stops the spread of the disease at about 60% of population exposure. That,s 200,000,000 people exposed in the US. 0.01% of those would be 200,000 deaths, which is how I derive my estimate.

My understanding of the nightly news is that it's heavily left leaning, so am I understanding correctly that you imply the left leaning half of the population don't care about protecting life?
I don't buy that premise at all.
Politically, the left places more faith in governmental institutions to solve problems, and the right places more faith in markets and individuals. There's some healthy balance to strike between those values.

They maintain an Overton window, left to right.
Apparently the real action nowadays is in in-game chats and forums. Scarlet Ace poker >> WHO

The real action for me is sharing Scotch with my (much older) left-leaning Korean friend and discussing anything of interest. He's a big picture thinker and can distill things into a coherent line of reasoning. I'm more of a listener (which you wouldn't gather from this forum), so it's good to queue him up and let the elaboration take place. I've often thought if I had recorded our conversations, it would appeal to a larger audience.

All the anthropogenic greenhouse gases are still in the atmosphere, and will be for a thousand years.Warming must continue,it's just physics. If you know how to add, then the trend is obvious.

Umm no, the experts told us hundreds of thousands if not millions would die before it peaked this spring.
You can't just move the goal posts out to infinity and say that you are right like with global warming. You can't keep playing the same card.

We will actually get to see the fall of weird particle dark matter and man driven climate change.

That's funny because across the board it does almost nothing to children.
