Not much premeability difference between iron nitride and tetrateanite and it's available.

Renat Heuberger gathered his co-founders on a glacier in the Swiss Alps for a celebration. The half-dozen men behind South Pole, the world’s leading seller of carbon offsets, raised their beers around a crackling fire: Business was booming and the Zurich firm’s valuation was hurtling toward $1 billion, making it one of the first “carbon unicorns.”…

During the next Ice Age, solar-heated new cities will float on freshwater lakes on the tops of the glaciers. Are there fewer cloudy days during an Ice Age?

Difference in sublimation vs evaporation?
Does it take more energy to skip a phase of matter? My guess is yes.

Phase change to meltwater is straightforward. Sublimation to vapor would require a low pressure.
Quote:
Sublimation is the transition of a substance directly from the solid to the gas state,[1] without passing through the liquid state.[2] Sublimation is an endothermic process that occurs at temperatures and pressures below a substance's triple point in its phase diagram, which corresponds to the lowest pressure at which the substance can exist as a liquid.

Professional climate scamers don't know how much CO2 is in the atmosphere.

I just listened to Steven Koonin on the Glenn Loury show last night. Pretty much the same things he's always saying; just presenting the facts of global warming with no spin, and trying to describe the limitations of various testing methodology and our ability to derive conclusions from them.

Here is the chapter where he says Mt. Pinatubo put out more CO2 than all of humanity in all of it's history: &t=643s
[Will the last one in the thread please turn out the lights?]

Wind farms dry the soil.
wattsupwiththat.com/2023/05/07/manmade-studies-suggest-that-wind-parks-cause-climate-change-even-regional-drought/
Quote:
As a conclusion, it can be said that it is certain that wind farms change the local climate. Very large wind farms or many wind farms also have an effect on the global climate. The results are mostly based on simulation models, whereby the study by Zhou et al. (2013), which was able to draw on comparative data, confirms the results found in the simulation models. The new study by Wang et al. (2023), which we discussed today, confirms the model calculations using real data obtained from a Chinese wind farm and shows for the first time that soil moisture is reduced by wind farms not only downwind but also upwind.
Wind farms thus contribute significantly to the drying out of soils, and to drought.”

news.slashdot.org: 'Mind-boggling' Methane Emissions From Turkmenistan Revealed
From the first comment:
Quote:
Estimates of gas leaked from the Nord Stream pipeline is 100,000 to 350,000 tonnes of methane. That may indeed be the largest single-event leak in history, but the Turkmenistan leaks being discussed cumulatively are leaking 2.6 million tonnes of methane per year.

Empirical knowledge says wind farms do tend to dry the soil. The turbine installers clear perhaps a 1/2 acre around each one so they can get their equipment in place.
