The Centralia mine fire is a coal-seam fire that has been burning in the labyrinth of abandoned coal mines underneath the borough of Centralia, Pennsylvania, United States, since at least May 27, 1962. Its original cause and start date are still a matter of debate. It is burning at depths of up to 300 ft over an 8 mi stretch of 3,700 acres. Wikipedia

The speaker has English as a second language and Cap'n Kirk pacing. Between listening and reading the [inaccurate] subtitles you can piece together what he is saying.

Long story short, early in the Earth's history Carbonaceous Chondrite asteroids* peppered the surface with simple hydrocarbons than were raised into the atmosphere where UV rays and mineral catalysts produced complex hydrocarbons that rained down and produced conditions similar to Titan today. Over Eons of time tectonic subduction transported these hydrocarbons 20 to 50 miles deep. Biomass is only able to account for 2-6% of the total volume because life feeds on itself and is continuously recycled. Bitumen, shale oil and tar sands all result from the combination of the two processes.

He accepts both biotic and abiotic theory but says the first 20% of biotic and the last 20% of abiotic theory is 'unscientific'. He also uses a lot of food analogies.

1) If the USA had a billion people, we'd be a 'third world nation' also, and the IPCC would allow us to build out additional coal-fired power plants as well.
2) If your political party would like to 'end' NAFTA, and GATT, we can re-onshore all the manufacturing capacity that China presently provides for us, and you can simply triple your income, in order to maintain your present standard of living.
3) And all that air pollution your imported products are creating in China, can come back to New Mexico.
