Without being too political () I've always enjoyed coal miner songs, from Woodie Guthrie to Steve Earle.

I don't see any Saudis, Russian or Iranians.
My electric car gets about 2 mile to a pound of coal and that's perfectly fine with me.

Such unenlightened times. Were I to own/operate an Arcimoto FUV, the power would come from water, not coal: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Coulee_Dam_(song)

Interesting calculation. So about 10-11 tons of coal a year for your electric car.

Ask that question to the man on the street most will say that the power comes from their building outlets.

Coal is concentrated solar power.

Even more concentrated forms of star power come in the form of uranium, thorium, and other radioactive heavy elements.

Looking forward to the very concentrated star power to be more broadly utilized.

You say that, but my iron-nitride battery thread went over like a lead[-acid] balloon.

I even included a picture of using gas to pump gas, to no avail.

Anthracite is concentrated solar power. Bituminous is adulterated, peat is marginal.

For me it's some combination of natural gas, wind and coal, with a little bit of solar some days.
