That's the one I replaced. Yeah, the replacement was from the junkyard, but I don't think chances are good of finding another dud, if indeed that is actually my problem. I cannot vouch for proper connectivity between the sensor and the ECU, and I can also tell you it isn't soldered (yet). All I can tell you is that replacing the sensor didn't do shhh(burp)t. Recently the engine has taken to kind of a "cycling idle", almost like some 2 stroke engines that is kind of a sine wave between two differing RPMs. I've never encountered a car behaving like this before - any insight?

Could be air bubbles in the coolant. That can fool the fast idle system. If the TBI is sitting a lot higher than the radiator, you could try burping the air out at the sensor. Or whatever seems to be the high point of the system. You might want to do this with the radiator cap on. But release any pressure first. Just loosen the sensor a little with the engine running. And of course do everything on a cold engine!

Or try to burb the air out from the cap with the front of the car up on ramps. Or parked on a steep hill.

Congrats on getting the G10 running in the CRX! This stuff is never as it sometimes seems.

I've got a G10 engine swap I'm working on, will start a new thread for it,
but I just got the G10 engine running on a stand. Tooks me three days to figure out all the wiring, but it works! Really, you only need to connect two things from the car
to get it working, the "RUN" wire, and the "START", the rest does not appear to be needed.

Small update: To remind the interested parties, I haven't really driven the CRXFi all Fall because I was suspicious of the driver's side front bearing. I finally found time over thanksgiving break to bring it in to my honda guy and get the hub pressed out. (Pressing hubs in and out is a PITA if you don't have a shop press.) Well, turns out the outer part of the hub is probably damaged too so adding new bearings will just tide the problem over for a couple months, so I'm going to the junkyard (hopefully this week) to get a whole new (used) knuckle... I'll probably just get both sides (pass. side for spare) if I can find something decent. An indoor space to work this winter is likely, so it looks like spring will be the real coming out for this car.

Just move to a rust belt city with a rotting housing/building stock and a fading tax base. There are plenty of buildings for real cheap for you to use... you just have to find a job or build a web empire with enough ad revenue to support your heated garage.

I LOVE the northeast, seriously I do.

In more news: Yesterday I pressed the hub/bearing out of my front DS knuckle. I've never done that before and it was great. Hydraulic presses are my best friend. Now I have to RTFM a little and figure out the order by which replacement items are stuffed back into the knuckle, actually go about purchasing those items, and pop them in. Took it off the insurance and subsequently off the road for winter. GGP 4/15/11!

Great Stuff

Will,
I totally missed this. Good Stuff. I had pondered this idea for a while.
So you went and built the car I want to own.
I just spent 2 hours reading the whole thread and some of the related links.
You have my vote for MOTY.

Ahh, someday my funds will come.
Thanks for the inspiration,
Schultz
