Glad to see that you're still going strong on the project Will!

Will, if you can find them, '88 HF doors are lighter than the rest... something about the impact beam being shaped differently or something like that.
Also, if you need to replace door glass, you need the glass for the same generation as your doors. 90-91 glass won't fit in 88-89 doors, and vice versa. There's about 3/8" difference in the width of the glass and it won't close/open properly. Been there, tried that.

Christ (pun intended), I've tried a few things like that. Stupid corner indicator lights vary, stupid front indicators vary btw civic HBs and even between 88-89 and 90-91 crxs. The shell of this car is an 88 HF, so I do have the light doors. The front end was ripped from a 91 Si, but the front indicators were gone by the time I got to it, so I either have to do something custom (probably) or find some lights that actually fit.

IIRC, most of the lights and such fit from 90-91 HB and CRX models, but certain things may be different, such as Si lights or certain things that are supposed to be "upgrades" from other models.
The other thing to pay attention to is that your headlights match the year of your fenders, else you'll need the corner lenses that match your headlight brackets. The difference between 88-89 and 90-91 corner lenses is whether or not the screws are showing. The fenders are stamped the same, IIRC, and you either have to add or remove a couple plastic nuts, depending on what combination you're using.
Sedan parts just don't work, FTMP. Forget 'em.

Even bigger news: today I liberated the efficiency holy grail of suzukiclone transmissions from the junkyard! '93 swift transmission, 3.52 FD ratio, 74 teeth on crown wheel.

WOO! I am. Mind me asking what they charged for that?
(I still haven't made the trek to the local wrecking yards to see what they have... I saw a Swift of the right vintage in someone's driveway a few weeks back, but don't know what tranny it had in it. And haven't seen it since, besides.)

I sometimes say that about my vehicle(s).
When you give me something to chew on (photos, videos, web site), I really want to feature the car on the home page. Blogworthy too for sure.

Yes yes, very exciting. However, life has its ways of making things interesting, and it has really gotten in the way of me working on the project more. The car STILL isn't inspected, and I'm in the process of moving. I haven't driven it with the new swift transmission at all. Right now the radiator is out waiting for me to add the block heater. I never expected my life the be so different when I started this project (thread). It's almost paralleling what happened to Ben and the IRX (runs and drives but not consistently enough to show any kind of results). I wont go into all of the other stuff I'm getting into, but there's a lot and it's all good. I'm excited about fall; it's my favorite season and I'm definitely living that spirit of change right now. Hopefully I'll get some nice results to post before winter's grip sets in. I heard Christ has undergone some changes/moving as well, so here's to you pal. Happy fall everyone - embrace and savor change.

Glad to hear things are going well! Is the move to or from the house you told me about when we went to the Montreal economy run?

honda made a 1.3L d series. think that would work just as well? I believe it came with a carb too but knowing honda its probably not hard to adapt to EFI. Arent less cylinders technically a bit more energy efficient though?

From. My girlfriend and I decided not to live together anymore :/ It stings a bit, but it was a cooperative decision and there's no venom involved. I got approved for my own mortgage and am looking for a home of my own, so happy Fall, I say.
