Obviously, if one side is the right side, then the other side must be the wrong side. That's logic :-)

And given most pumps can reach across why is there a problem ?

These days, most pumps can't. Even on my Insight, which is way below average size.

Can't reach both sides here most of the time unless you know your pulling in on the wrong side, but then you can't swipe at the pump. Impala's on the left, cobalt on the right, altima left, going to go fill up the stratus for my oldest daughter, I think it's on the left but I'll check before I pull up to the pump.

So if the driver is not on the right side then they must be on the wrong side ?
Apparently gaffer tape (aka Duct tape in the US) is like the force - it has a dark side, a light side and it holds the universe together.

US Pumps maybe not.
Maybe they don't have the length to cope. But I'm sure they make up for it in other ways. Very caring, understanding and patient for example and quite good at housework and fashion tips ?

Terrain dictates.
The hill doesn't care that you still have a gallon and a half in the tank. If it wants to be so steep that your fuel pump can't find that gallon and a half, then by God you're walking. It was only 1.1 miles each way, and it was above freezing, so it could have been worse.

You might have crossed it by alternating hard acceleration with short glides to reload the fuel pump, kind of uphill P&G... hard to do when it is really steep.

Or you could turn around and go up the hill in reverse.
I've read that this was frequently required with Model T Fords.

Racers use baffled fuel tanks to maintain supply when cornering hard and running a low fuel load for weight - doubt you would be able to design one for hills though - racers cornering is for maybe 3-5 seconds at most but climbing a hill is much longer.
How about a gimbal mounted backup tank ?

All the @#$! hardware makers who put "mini-USB" connection/charging ports in their devices, every single one of which is a different size or shape. Tablet, cell phone, camera... Gotta have a separate cable for each.

Yes! Thank you! How hard is it to have a single standard for "USB". Universal is in its name, right?
