It makes me want to drive out to the country and make an mph vs mpg graph.

Hehe , you keep it up Robert and you might forget to check the fuel guage for a week.

I'm still working on a device that allows me to get a 55 mph flying start with a hot engine, right out of my driveway every morning. Until then, I'll have to live with 62-64mpg overall.

I have been watching the new scangauge and have gotten 41.5 MPG. my average of late has been only ok since I have been doing a lot of expressway driving with a time constraint and a passenger who demands going the speed limit -5 +10 mph. When I can practice hypermileing I have been doing 37 to 40 MPG. following semi trucks (2 -3 second) boots my mileage by 5 MPG.

46mpg on summer tires. In three inches of slush. I was hoping to get one good commute with a good thermostat and summer tires, but we have a proper winter storm coming on Friday, and I WILL install my Bizzaks before then.

What kind of a FE hit do you take on a dry day using those winter tires?

Hello -
Decent MPG on the way to work in LA Rain :
Code:
ROUTE :
60 West -> 710 South -> 105 West -> 405 South -> Exit Freeway
=> Roughly 20+ miles
----
NET ELEVATION CHANGE : < ~200 feet drop
----
SCANGAUGE "CURRENT" READINGS :
51.0 MPG,
0.6 Gallons,
206 Water Temp Max,
20.2 Miles,
2683 RPM Max,
0.6 Hours,
59 MPH Max,
41 MPH AVG
----
IAT READING : Hot Air Intake led to Input Air Temp
readings of around 120+ degrees F.
----
WEATHER(.com) :
50 degrees F,
Rain
87% Humidity,
47 degrees F Dew Point,
29.67 in. Pressure,
----
TIME : ~11:09 AM to ~11:45 AM, ~36 minutes
----
The average speed of 41 MPH is about 6 MPH lower than my normal average freeway speed. No traffic jams bad enough to really bring me down.
There were a line of at least 10 cars with their emergencies on, mixed with traffic but in the same lane. They didn't have Funeral stickers, but I am sure they must have been a funeral caravan.
Considering the weather I am happy with the result.

Last week on my commute to work I got 28MPG and going home was 26MPG. Yesterday in the rain it was 24 and this morning on the way to work it was cold and I only got 25MPG.

I'll be unable to do an apples-to-apples comparison until spring. I replaced my bad thermostat last night.
Got 63.4 / 65.8 on the way to / from work today. Wet slush on the way to work, extreme tailwind + crosswind + rain on the way home.
