This new prototype looks fantastic. If the expected ship date is 4th quarter of 2016, this will be the last prototype?

The plan is to make 25 more. I forget the word for it-- they aren't really prototypes, more like pre-production versions. Then they'll use those 25 for EPA testing, crash testing, etc.

Alpha production. VW made 30 in the 1930s, Arcimoto have started on their first 50.

That's the first thing that jumped out at me too. The edge isn't even machined on the steel cover, it still shows the plasma cut marks. I like how the bolt holes aren't counter-bored either, so those holes, that they most likely drilled out over size, won't properly locate the steel cover to the cast aluminum case it bolts to (that looks like it was gnawed out of the mold by rabid beavers) and after a few heat cycles it will squirm around and cause a nice oil leak.
Never fear! Just slather on some more RTV!!!
