well the cooling proble has been solved... the raising the hood helped a bit, but what solved it was the addition of holes in the "bug splat area" of the nose .. just started drilling 2"1/4" holes in that area did 2 then test drove it then added a few then drove , came up with a rectabngular area of smaller than a license e plate to make normal cooling for the car.. it was warn today.. mid 80's and it was at normal oppertating temp..

I also added a vacuum gauge int he car as it not fuel injected.. seems tyo helped my driving style .. being able to monitor vacuum on the motor.... the gauge sits int he cabin next to the gauge cluster.
The n i decided to raise the hood drastically.. lisfted it and started filling the 3" gabe between the hood and the fenders with foam.. the next step will be to extend the hood closer to the windshield.

lotsof work was done today.. most important was the cooling issue is totally fixed.. I opens a few hoesl to the bugsplat area of the nose to fix the issue.. it was boarder line before but today was a great day to stress test it, it was about 85 today. now its good to go , added a hole in the nose smaller than a license plate that fulfills the need for the cooling system easily. got the new interior review mirrors mounted, put come new seat covers on (it needed it) Raised the hood up to about 2.5" to streamline the shape of the car and filled the gap between the hood and the fenders.. ill be extending the hood tomorrow and filling any gaps for that tomorrow. Photos coming soon.

you could have made a flip down front panel just under the front of the nose to
pull or push open with a cable to draw in air to get the desired cooling effect..

That's a really clever idea. It could retract when not needed or when near a speed bump.

Well here are a few more photos.. after the hood rais and filling with foam to fill the gap.. I'm now waiting for the foam to cure before i trim it down to shape.. foaming is a long process takes a full day to sure before you can saw it up.. bot works very well..

The hood is raised about 2.5" total and a extension to fill the gap between the hood and windscreen was added.. I added as much as i coule with out disabling the use of the hood.. with the hood open on the factory hood stand its barely touching it.. i have though about adding some fringed flecable door seals or something to less en this gap more and allow use of the hood and wipers.. well see what MPG ratings are like first..

I drove it around after this hood rais and once the foan hardened up to a consistancey that was drivable and notice i was less into the throttle via my internal vacuum gauge that was added to the car .. seem to made a difference.

PS if the last day or so you were trying to view this thread and the photos were not there.. blame my 1 year old, he was "rewiring" and pulled the Ethernet from the web server.... Its now fixed... takes after his father I guess
