Also today I removed the little "toolbox" compartment inthe rear to make way for the added car seat for my son.. it's going to work out quite well, you remove that box and you get more cargo room, there is a well thats 2+" deep in that thing.. like the spare tire well. I test fitted the car seat and theres plenty of room till hes about 70 pounds.. a adult would not be able to fit back there comfortably but a midget or kid .. no problem, in japan I would not be surprised if these things had a single rear seat??
My wife was a bit concerned but I said if I can secure a 55 gallon drum of oil in my veggie van for a fuel tank that weighs over 400 lbs I can safely secure a 70 pounds of kid and car seat.. it may be semi controversial to some but really its not rocket science.

Well after much deliberation on the tail .. here is the final concept drawing.. trailing the rear boat tail as far as I can to create as little drag as possable yet keep weight and handling at bay.. Still extream but still sain.. note** the planed wheel well covers and side skirts not pictured..

yeah, its a GT40..
That boat tail is crazy long LOL
I love it.. any plans for tails or retrofit the stocks in?
have you thought about streamlining the boat tail in with rear fender skirts?
Did you ever get to see Carl Knox's CRX?
I really liked what he did to it, it looked futuristic..
Carls CRX was way ahead of Hondas design..

Yeah we have been talking about that design.. thats where this tail came from.
Yeah i have plans for mini boattails behind the tires and side lower skirts and deflectors in front of the tires etc.. along with full wheel covers on all 4 tires...and fully covered underside of the car.

I would make one small change (see attachment) and 11 degree upsweep on the bottom of the tail will further decrease your wake size, produce a little down force and allow you to enter steeper driveways etc... Its a win-win change

ebacherville, it looks great. Do you have a picture of the front with the new air holes? also, when you open the hood, does the foam stay on the fenders or does it go up with the hood?
If you want to trim the foam a cheap serrated ginzu style knife works well. Then fill in the open pores with some sort of filler (I don't know if bondo dissolves this kind of foam)

matt, you are right about reducing lift, but his angle (2-3 degrees) is best for reduced drag.
