What I'm thinking now is its Nardo Gray, a popular BMW/Audi motorsport color.

Youtube is going nuts right now over Type 1.5 variants:

That lifted Swedish design has interestingly designed widened fenders. And it would pair well with the electric Polo retro-fit drive train available in Germany.

It does resemble Nardo Gray to some extent, but it seems to be a little darker.

Hey, CR-- Brazilian Domestic Market:

I like that modernized tail light setup.

edit:
This video is impressive, for the rendering of a dozen or more cars at once. That's some impressive compute power.

I like it except for the ground scraping front and who the heck in their right mind puts a roof rack and paddleboard on top of a semi aero vehicle? IMHO, that is like putting a thule ski rack on top of your 911 turbo.

In January of 1949, Heinz Nordoff was appointed Managing Director of Volkswagen. One of his first directives was to have Cabriolet versions of the Volkswagen Beetle constructed for production consideration. Hebmüller was assigned the task of building a two-seater “Roadster” version: Karmann was instructed to build a true four passenger Cabriolet.

OTOH finding a BDM Kombi in Tokyo wouldn't be that surprising.

Came across an old Torchinsky article from 2016:

jalopnik.com: Tesla Is About To Eat Volkswagen's Lunch

Here's Mr. Torchinsky's montage:

The article was inspired by an Elon Musk quote.

Quote:
There’s a strong initial market of now-wealthy Boomers who would pay ex recto for a modern, safe, eco-friendly electric bus, and that vehicle, designed with the right balance of old and new, could leverage nostalgia and established character to get a new generation of people...excited about buying a hypothetical (and, appropriately priced) modern Microbus.
Extra points for the Latin. But it's six years later and neither company has a microbus out.

I prefer nose to the ground, but that's the Volkswagen_Kommandeurswagen. or Type 87.

The only Kombi I would consider Brazilian Domestic Market, even though there were some limited exports, are those 6-door ones with all the doors front-hinged. BTW today I saw one, but wasn't able to go take a picture.
