I've only watched the first half so far:

Title says it all, except it's a Pontiac GXP body and the most awesome dynamometer ever. 13:00 Dyno Pull - 2029.9 HP out of a flat four boxer.

I'd like to see a set of four of those front wheels on a [Zenith Blue] Type III Notchback.

Someone is still using a 50y.o. Beetle for road trips...

São Gabriel is about 200 miles from Porto Alegre.

I wouldn't be surprised if my stepmother, who was born in São Gabriel (yet AFAIK spent most of her youth in Bagé and Santa Maria), eventually knows the owner of this Beetle that I spotted on the wild.

Other than odd fatigue related body issues* why wouldn't a bug live 50 years?

*door hinge/A pillars fatigue cracking for example

I think it's down to having an owner or owners that care about it.

Clickbait!

This is the thumbnail for a video about this car.

I sorta like the real car. Not necessarily the wide body, but the front airdam with headlights on an otherwise openwheel car. It a street baja/time attack mashup.

The middle exhaust ports are siamesed like a flathead Ford.

Good luck ever adjusting those valve clearances again with those headers. I had to adjust mine every month when my '65 bug was my daily driver.

I tried hydraulic lifters. They clattered until the engine warmed up.

What I wonder is in what sequence the headers and crankshafts are cinched up.

The last eight entries in the Unusual tag are Volkswagens. justacarguy.blogspot.com/search/label/unusual. Rometschs and Fridolins.

I guess you already know some Brazilian Fords from the '80s and '90s resorted to Volkswagen engines. But anyway, joining 2 Boxers to use in a hot-rod might be quite cool...
