Doesn't it seem quite strange that early RHD Transporters and those with doors on both sides had the same door sets simply assembled the other way around, while the RHD ones made in Brazil exclusively for export had a mirrored set of doors, all while being offered as a cheap alternative to the updated German and South African models?

How you make doors is a tooling dependent function. The brazilians discovered the doors could be symmetrical so they only needed one die set for all 4 doors

Well, maybe a previous experience with that Brazil-only 6-door bodystyle rendered it easier too.

Took these pictures a few blocks away. That might be one of the last streets paved with cobblestones in the neighborhood.

Notice the exhaust tip under the left rear fender, a '93-'96 Brazilian Beetle feature when a catalytic converter was fitted, yet it still retained a dual-carb setup instead of the EFI fitted to its Mexican counterparts which also had the catalytic converter fitted in a different position.

My question is about the scene at 13:38. A guy is holding a model of something that looks like a morph between a Beetle and a Model T center-door sedan.

The EA128 concept preceded their Phaeton from 2002.

Did you notice it seems harder to find a technical-and-spiritual replacement for the Beetle than for the Model T? Within Ford's own range it's impossible to deny the Ranger became so ubiquitous on nearly every market where Ford operates, yet the mid-size Toyota trucks and SUVs such as the Hilux, Tacoma, Fortuner and Land Cruiser Prado seem to have taken over the role of a versatile vehicle which could serve both as a family runabout and a workhorse, and essentially the body-on-frame with rear-wheel drive, longitudinal engine and rear live-axle remain in use after more than 100 years...

I drove a Beeskow once, as a loaner from my mechanic. Copper colored with a red interior. He sold it on without giving me a shot at it.

Once in a while some redneck asks me about the Karmann-Ghia TC, yet it's been a while that I don't see a Karmann-Ghia TC live...
