Don't have any pics but all the baja bugs posted here reminds me of the one I had. Had a 2000cc "Type IV" engine and tranns out of a vw bus.

I'm not a VW guy in the traditional sense. I've always had a morbid fascination with them. But I've never owned or driven one. I've even tried to buy a few of them. However they always seem to go for more than I have thought they were worth. But there's a few guys on here who are old school "VW guys". So I try to pick their brains for as much VW knowledge as I can get. So its kind of an abortion topic of me asking dumb questions from the gurus... -lol

So that explains all those front-engined V-8s.

More like dangling red meat in front of them, what's this? Tiguan? Toureg? Is soch.ru any clue?

Front-engined V-8?

I was reading about how a short time after the Sochi Olympics, the city was basically robbed of anything that they could steal from the Olympic park. It looks nothing like it did while the event was going on now. Those VW trucks were used by the various police and Olympic officials during the event. This one with tires, and the other that I previously shared with the tank treads. I think they are pretty cool looking, though not very "eco-friendly". They are VW Amarok pickups with TDI V6's.

I see now that Wikipedia lists the Amarok in European and South American markets.

I started feeling like I haven't contributed anything [original] new in a while, so I took a snapshot of some sketches in Sharpie on cardboard from the 1980s.

The buslet is from a biker stagecoach in Mother Oats comix, but with a WWI open cockpit. The off-roader is an openwheel double-cab truck. Sorry about the typo.

Here's a reject sketch of the Very Light Volkswagen I updated with a new boat tail and three-piece windshield. The boat tail looks short at this angle, but would be 4ft long.

Also flushed side windows.
