Great Thread Bill!!

Just saw and read the whole thread! Great idea and love the progress. If I might make a suggestion that might ease (or confuse) the muscle car purists? You might want to add a very good external sound system to mimic the V-8 that was replaced, with a good on/off switch for when you really want to hear it...and if you are feeling sentimental, add in some squeaking and rattling for pure ambiance. :-)

Look forward to seeing your progress after your vacation and thanks for rescuing instead of letting the car rot and not be used. I much prefer to see classics being driven and not on a trailer.

LOL!!!! I had considered that some time ago. I may do it yet. Envision a speaker mounted in a short piece of tailpipe to make the car look like it has dual exhaust...

I still plan to replace the pedestrian alert noisemaker with the hum from Dr Who's TARDIS.

...in the news....
"It takes an unusual eye to look at a 1967 Pontiac Firebird and see the Toyota Prius hidden inside. But that's just the kind of eye that a creative mechanic known online as "Bill the Engineer" has. Bill is updating his old Firebird into a true classic for the 21st century and has documenting the changes over at Priuschat and EcoModder."
