Gee, we nearly hit the 30s last week. Celsius!
We had a father-and-daughter Scouting weekend. Some dads did not take the trouble to go to their tents and just slept under the night/early morning sky. Mid April...
Much cooler now, but nowhere near as cold as Ohio.

Here in the desert state we have the opposite problem, during summer months you NEVER leave tools in the sun where they can " heat-up" to almost blistering hotness in mere minutes, and achy hands never let loose fast enough!

Well, the day wasn't a total loss after all. Having starting below freezing this morning, the afternoon finally got up to 59F this afternoon. After the yard work was done, I got a couple hours to play in the garage before another responsibility called me away. Life gets busy...
Today I fabricated the first two bridge plates for the interior on the floor behind the front seet area. They were primed with weld-thru primer. The area on the car where they attach was sanded clean and the plates set into position.
The next chance I get to go back into the garage, I will weld them into place.

Clearly, the plate is better than no plate, but is it significantly better for a specific reason I do not know? Rigidity? Safety? Bolting down seat rails?

It looks like where he is grafting Prius onto Firebird.

Yes, they bridge across the gap between the Prius V and Firebird floors. The plates both provide some rigidity, plus they create a flatter floor for the rear passengers to step upon when accessing the rear seat.

After finding this, I wonder if there would be somebody willing to try a similar built from scratch.

I thought you would say that. You are thorough. I like that. It's a good model for we other modders to see. To do through correctly you either have to know or know that you don't know. And in either case: patience.
