It would pass as a stock Avanti if it wasn't PINK!
This is the tell-all photo from the listing.

In 1963 Ian Fleming owned an Avanti (said it drove better than an Aston Martin DB7). So as an homage to the author of “James Bond” I have installed a smoke screen machine, flipping licence plates and machine guns which are hidden behind the front signal lights.

Did James Bond ever drive a pink car?
No

I doubt it. However there was a movie "In Like Flint" where the spy may have, or maybe one of the Austin Powers movies...

Not much very photogenic this week. Just continuing with the body-to-chassis welds, then applying primer to stop any rust from forming. Ohio has decided to be 87F and humid all of the sudden.
More next weekend...

The new patch panels for the front floor of the Firebird body under the driver's and passenger's feet arrived today.
I placed one over the rusted-out area on the driver's side to check the fit. They will need a bunch of judicious trimming to go around the Prius V crossmember, but they should do the job just fine. Hoping to get the existing floor prepped tomorrow...

NEWS!!!
My family and I are moving from Central Ohio to Southern Delaware in late July. I will be starting a new engineering job there and living in temporary housing until we can get the new house built. That also means that this weekend will be the last working on the Firebrid for a while. I will be reconnecting the brakes, and modifying the intermediate steering shaft to give me steering. That will make getting the car onto and off of the trailer that will transport it much easier. The car itself, plus all the parts and tools will be moving on the weekend before July 4th as part of our search for temporary housing. Between now and then I have 23 years worth of belongings in the current house to sort through and pack. Since I am also still working full time, my days, nights and weekends will be VERY busy.
All of this means that the Firebrid project will be on hold for an undetermined amount of time once I have prepared it for the move. I will still be on this site frequently, but the updates on the project will slow to a trickle intil the new garage at the new house is built.
