Remember the Alfa Romeo 164? At least in Singapore it was renamed 168, as the original name could be interpreted as "death along the route" by Chinese Singaporeans.

People, this isn't a concept or a Ford project or even a real car! There is no Mustang Mach-F project. It's a render imagined by a self-described automotive designer; in other words, pure speculation from someone on the internet completely unconnected with Ford. Here's what the same guy thought the Cybertruck would look like before it was unveiled:

I was hoping for that Cybertruck rendering back before the announcement and was extremely disappointed at the reveal. Now I'm not sure which I prefer. Probably the actual one as a throwback to Delorean, which I always wanted to own.

Good point and 100% true, however such speculation has been fueled by announcements and actual new products.

FORD HOPES TO SPAWN MORE SUB-BRANDS IN THE FUTURE
https://www.musclecarsandtrucks.com/...in-the-future/
Quote:
While we wouldn’t blame anyone for not knowing a lot about Ford CEO Jim Farley, you probably should. The vintage race car driver took over the reigns at Ford back in October of 2020, but he’s played a significant role in the company’s business model for long before that. In fact, it was Farley who is responsible for the Mustang Mach-E. It was his idea to make Ford’s electric crossover carry some DNA from the famous muscle car, instead of being just another car. Farley also helped to shape the creation of the Bronco Sport, effectively turning the decades-defunct nameplate into an entirely new sub-brand..................

Whether you love them or loathe them, both the Mustang Mach-E and the Bronco Sport have proven rather popular thus far. ............

............the CEO aims to release more sub-brands in the future..........

“We have so much opportunity,” CEO Jim Farley told MotorTrend in an interview. “We have such a plethora of ideas and passion brands in the company. So many in Europe and in the U.S. We run deep. So, I don’t think we’re going to stop there.”..............

MotorTrend notes that a Transit sub-brand could be in the works for the companies commercial fleet.................

We understand that some folks are hesitant when it comes to sub-brands, and the potential they possess for diluting a historic nameplate. That is a genuine concern, but thus far Ford has done a fairly good job.
I will say that as much as I love my Infinity G37X Coupe at first glance it could be any other car from Lexus or Honda. Somehow Ford's new products for now have at least escaped looking like Japanese cars. The love affair with mocking the European look might be waning as well, for now the future looks to be a self identified "American Look".

Ain't it quite surprising that, after some decades with so many brands that were either sold or phased out, Ford is now trying this sub-brand approach. I'd take any forecast regarding this strategy with a grain of salt BTW.

GM was the 5th best-selling automaker in India once it pulled the plug there and in South Africa, and shortly after in Indonesia too. Manufacturing for export of CKD kits of the previous generation of the Spark (and a sedan version meant specifically for India too) sent to Mexico, Colombia and Ecuador remained for a while. Even though in South Africa the local operation was fully-owned by GM, in India it was a joint-venture with the very same Chinese SAIC, which now is using one of GM former plants in India to make MG SUVs.

Ford's operations in India are fully-owned, and were implemented after a failed joint-venture with Mahindra, and once again Ford recently approached Mahindra in a seemingly attempt to outsource affordable SUVs like GM has done with the Chinese-built 2nd generation of the Captiva (not so affordable by the way).

I can say that the Mach-E seems to be making it's own history and identity.

Introduced as "a Mustang" the public has looked beyond the superficiality and gimmickry Mr. Farley felt necessary (in my opinion).

Ford's words............................2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E

FORD MEDIA CENTER (I don't see a date)

For the first time in 56 years, Ford is expanding the Mustang family, bringing the famous pony into the electric age with Mustang Mach-E, an all-new, all-electric SUV born of the same all-American ideals that inspired the best-selling sports coupe in the world.
I have to talked to a owner of a Mach-E, and several friends about it. No one seems to refer to it as a Mustang Mach-E only as a Mach-E.

How may people have leased/bought because of the pony emblem?

I'm sure they are gathering the data as we speak.

The Next Ford Mustang Will Launch in 2022 With AWD and Hybrid Power: Report
In at least one variant, the rear axle will apparently be powered by a V8 while its front wheels run on electricity.
By Chris Tsui April 20, 2020

..............Notably, this isn't the first time we're hearing of an electrified Mustang that isn't the Mach-E. According to previous reports, a hybrid Mustang was actually supposed to arrive by this year alongside a hybrid F-150 pickup but those plans were apparently pushed back by then-new CEO Jim Hackett in favor the aforementioned Mach-E electric crossover. Ford promised a hybrid Mustang that would dole out "V8 power and even more low-end torque." On top of a partially-electric variant, Ford's future pony car is said to share a platform with the new Explorer, an SUV that just so happens to be available in a hybrid as well. ......

GM taking a closer look at the Santa-Cruz?

I'm sure they all do more than just look at each other's work.
