well during this last few rain storms i found that i had a leak

where the hatch meets the top, my plastic over the edge had torn and sun degraded exposing the joint to direct water entry

with the old tore off:

I went looking for a rubber seal of some sort and got this:

its a garage door bottom seal. black vinyl rubber all weather rated.

I cut the lips off the rubber and used the existing screw to hold it to the hatch:

I fiber glassed the other side in and fixed a few cracks while at it:

added some paint and its better then what I started with. the seal was ~$8 for 10' by 2" and about 1/8" think.

I wish I had a small 1.0- 1.6L diesel. then I should be over 70 MPG. but I do not so I make do with what I have.

There is no shame in being over EPA.

Build a boat tail for your car then I have another car to try to beat I seem to be passing the competition of late... new fill up today....

Not all of them, Sunshine.

Actually, I should wait until I get a fill in with the new engine before I say that.

Looking forward to "Tail-a-palooza". Only a month left!

I like storm clouds

What's your % over EPA at? I try to use that number as its a better gauge of how hard we try with our cars. In absolute numbers you are a bit farther ahead but since we all start at different points it's a hard measuring rod to use.

I just looked at your sig, you are beating me on EPA as well... I need some tail winds for a month
