The new ones aren't great, so I don't know why I bother except I still get excited.

I find Mr Plinket Reviews more exciting than the actual movies

The new Star Wars movies are fun, but they aren't good because they haven't expanded the universe or explored new concepts or themes. I'm still wondering what the the "I am your father" scene will be, but afraid I won't be surprised.

I love the "How it Should Have Ended" channel on YouTube and I want to see parts of it replace "Batman versus Superman," although I fear that would not work at all.
I found a list of 100 all-time best sci-fi movies, but it did not have anything like what you remember of "ICQ" or whatever you remember.
I just remember a chatting app by that name.
Let us know if you figure it out!

Honestly, I don't remamber the last time I sat in front a TV ans watched a entire film or even 30 minutes of some TV program. I developed aversion to HD digital broadcast, which combined with aversion for LCD (LED backlight too) screens turned me quite fobic to digital home video technology.
I only watch clips on PC and not in full screen. Maybe I accept it cause I was used to days before high speed internet, to accept poorer things from web. But I refuse to accept this actual "quality" from TV broadcast, digital artifacts of video compression and LCD screen countless dowsides.
I watched clips from Star Wars last episode and I discovered some interesting things.
-There is a new Force, not the dark side or the light side, but one even fast to learn, the black side of the force, when a afro man turn a jedi faster than anyone.
-They wasted a lot of lives trying to destroy the Death Star, when a single ship junging to light speed in front of Death Star could have destroyed it or damaged up to let it unfunctional.
-Luke Skywalker abandon his advanced cybernetic hand with natural skin finish to build a new one using pieces from his garage.
-Wookies almost don't get old or gray hair.
-They are using botox and facelift in other galaxies.
-Jedis are supposed proud of their scars from duels, but for other side try to hide it with tatoons cause their dermatology in their galaxy are so crap and wastfull as ours in terms of remove scars.
-The red "guards" with helmets usualy waits to be killed by jedis if the silly coreography of fight said it so.

The guy from "Attack the Block" survived. I cannot say much more for his mastery of light saber dueling, except that I would have been able to block, parry, or anything else.
The Hyperspace Attack was a mistake. Why aren't there hyperspace missiles--or torpedoes?
Who said Luke lost his hand? What if he just lost the natural skin finish? What if the cybernetic hand was damaged beyond repair and the best that he could do was scavenge parts from his garage?
Wookiees are supposed to for centuries, and while Chewbacca was kind of treated like a pet, not awarded a medal in "Return of the Jedi," and Leia ignored him to hug Rey.
Unless you are not referring to space bears from Kashyyyk and are talking about something else.
J.J. Abrams admitted the hug scene was probably a mistake.
Do you expect people in the middle of a war to have time to worry about scars? I spent twelve months in Afghanistan. Personnel just worried about healing.
"Boot to the Head" proved that groups of bad guys rarely gang up on individual protagonists--they attack one or two at a time, while the others dance menacingly.

Had Finn and Rey learned the force so fast because the film must prove that women and afro descendants are better than everyone.
Just lost of skin finish would not result and so robust metal structure in Luke's hand. If you put skin over such thing if would be much larger than a normal hand.
If he don't care about scar, why did he made a tatoo over it?
At least the Galatic Empire is like me, they prefer CRT over LCD :

I watched this on a black and white TV on acid. How the TV got on acid I'll never know.
Did someone say light saber?

I think that explains 2001 also, but raises more questions, like how does a movie get on acid?

The big battle is Alita: Battle Angel vs Captain Marvel. Alita has reached the $350 million dollar mark ($75 million domestic), $400 million are needed to guarantee the sequel. They like it in China, but I haven't heard about Japan.
Meanwhile the projected domestic box office is down from $180 million to $80-100 million for Captain Marvell, and there are people advocating going to see Alita again on the day Captain Marvel debuts.
Nerdrotic has an analysis up on Youtube called Disney Ending Marvel Comics? Captain Marvel & Friends Destroyed The Comic Industry (79,671 views)
'Nuff said.

I pretty much only go to the theatre to see "spectacle" movies. (EG. recent Star Wars prequel/sequel/spin-offs.) Amaze my eyes & ears, please.
