Hey.
I'm the proud owner of The Albino Geko. It's loud and slow and tons of fun. My best ever is 38mpg on winding hilly West Virginia roads with NO babying. Not bad for a 3 speed. Looking forward to the 40s and 50s when I finally swap a MTX into it.
So, that's me. Hi.

Another welcome.
What are your trans swap plans? Have you sourced one already?
I think I'd go insane with a 3-speed auto, even getting those numbers. Just knowing how much it's leaving on the table would be painful!

I have one coming in a parts car I'm picking up. To give you an idea of the change; I'll be going from a final drive of 2.98 and a 1.00 3rd, to 3.55 final and 0.72 5th.
When I first got the car, I thought, "Hmm, it's not going into 4th for some reason." I wanted to choke the idiot designers when I found out what they did. When I found out that a Neon with a 3.55 trans can get high 40s easily, as some have done, I had to swap.

as for the 3 speed, my friend has a geo metro 3 speed w/out O/D and when your out on the highway your fuel economy tanks it. He drives in the city though with a speed limit of 35, so he doesn't fill up often. once a month maybe. probably longer

Cool. Well, keep us updated.
Do up a swap thread with pics - it would be a good resource for other people considering doing the same thing.
