A friend of mine used to do the pennies trick when riding his motorcycle - until the lady he did it to got his plate, called the cops, who then illegally entered his residence in plain clothes without being invited in or identifying himself first, and charged him with resisting arrest when he fought back. What a mess that was!

He was fortunately able to get Mr. Asshat cop's resisting charge dropped eventually and paid a fine for littering.

Easy to see why throwing pennies is illegal or dangerous.

Here's one that is neither: a mis-aimed windshield washer nozzle.

There is no law that says you can't spritz your windshield while driving. And there's no law that says the alignment angle of where it ends up spraying is subject to inspection...

Today I let Karma take care of one. She was tailgating me, about 20-25 Feet back (maybe closer), for about 3 miles (in the slow lane). I was doing my pulse and glide from 50-60 MPH since the PSL is 55 MPH and the fast lane was doing about the same (minus P&G). My final glide was for about the last half mile to the stop light where I had to turn, once I was able to change lanes into the turn lane I did, at which point we exchanged "Middle finger salutes". Of course she was concentrating more on flipping me off than she was on driving (she had to open the sunroof of her Lexus) and proceeded to rear-end the Dodge Ram that had changed lanes into the spot I had previously occupied. I called the cops and waited around until they showed up and told them what happened (minus the part about me flipping her off), ticket for her, accident was her fault, and her insurance rates will likely go even higher than they already were.

IMH0, the only thing that could stand improvement is refraining from the exchange of "Middle finger salutes".

Smile and wave instead. Never say anything - just smile and wave. Extending the finger in return might cause an accident (as maybe it did for her, although it was well deserved because she was preoccupied with doing that and received the consequences of it) or, (worst case scenario) if you do that, someday someone might even shoot at you. Smiling and waving plays with peoples' minds and it nearly always has a calming effect. Or at least it will throw them a curve (psychologically), and they will conclude that you are of a different mindset, and their attempted insult has no effect on you.

I have always been a fan of smile and wave. If they flip you off and you return the gesture it just validates their negative opinion.
