A good year for the cruze

According to EPA i have saved 95 gals and $308.75 total since I bought the car in late 2013. I would assume I saved around $250 Since the first few months I had it I drove like an idiot.

2015 should be a better year as I plan to add a rear diffuser, and an arduino home build lower active air dam shutter to champagne.

I'm up about $660 (over EPA) for my two daily drivers, which are still basically stock.

$9 from November to the end of last year. Not too bad if you ask me. I should be seeing a lot more savings this year, since I have instrumentation now and am tracking my fuel logs.

No ecomodding related expenses?

Saved about $1000 vs EPA estiamtes after expenses with my truck.

I don't track my wifes car, because she won't help but I would guess we saved around $200 vs EPA with it this year.

If i go with 45.000 km 29.800 since august but 5 months without work) i saved "only" 420€. All i put in were some ducktape rolls. Free corroplast. And the L piece of 12€ and nuts and bolts of 6€. so 380€+ up to now. But i dont have alot of mods and when the weather improves i want to add more. And save even more.

Update: this was calculated versus epa. But i had one tank driven on normal acceleration and highway speeds of 120 130km/h. That tank was not the epa 1:16.5 but 1:15.2. If i use that tank as basis, my safings in gas are 720€ minus the costs. So big differance

Saved $341 in 2014 (no ecomodding costs except maybe time). Over the life of the car I've saved $1436 + $100 = $1536. I traded the OEM 17" alloy rims for another Forester owner's OEM 16" alloy rims plus $100. The mod that keeps on giving - cheaper tires at every tire changeout than 17". Now that's a cost-effective mod!

Ecomodding always costs me money!

(Because I don't drive very much and never hit payback.)

I'm fine with that. It's a fun hobby.

Best estimate: $2,100 (in round numbers)

Based on 35,000 miles/yr
26 MPG vs 18 MPG stock (no EPA rating on one-ton truck)
Average diesel price: $3.40/gal

Getting the temperamental GV tamed helped a lot, but my ARE tonneau blew off and that hurt.

All mods long since paid for so 2014 is pure profit.

I don't know about JUST 2014, but in the last 17mos. I've saved $1714.15 which breaks down to just about $100/mo.

I only spent $200 or so on modifications.

I figure that I saved $1000 or so over the course of the year.
