It would be strange if PWN found its way into spoken language, after all it isn't a spoken word but a misspelt typed word - but if it did it would have to be pronounced 'pown', I think, or it loses contact with the real word.
That's like people saying LOL out loud as part of conversation though! A bit odd.

(people do say POWN or LOL, moreso the first than the second)

Well, now you can tell them that they're not pronouncing it correctly, and why. One-up them with a bit of Welsh vocabulary: "It's pwn, you illiterates, just like in cwm or Pwyll".

A recent post on FML is by a guy who lost his girlfriend for saying LOL as well as laughing. English was confusing enough when people were just "being had."
