Since I use my Truck for it's intended purpose, I would buy another Toyota Tacoma Double Cab V6, but I am hoping to be able to buy a Gas/electric hybrid Tacoma someday. I need the usefulness of my truck, but would like hybrid FE.

Later,

Allan Greenblazer

If it happend right now, I would buy a used old civic. If it happened this Nov, I would buy the Ford Fusion HEV. Otherwiae, out next car will be sonthing I can plug into the grid at its main power source, PHEV, or Straight Battery EV.

I have a serious aversion to oil use, and hope that the result of Peak Oil is not Life @ defcon-5. After all, we once fought wars over salt, because it could preserve food.

I should have been more clear.
My vehicle choice would be the same.

What I MEANT to say is:
I have a serious aversion to oil use because of economic security, national security and environment. I hope that the result of Peak Oil is not Life @ defcon-5. It helps that Saudi Arabia wont increase production, because it creates a plateau for 5-10 years before any serious decline in oil production, all else being equal. This give us a window of opportunity. It gives the average person time to mentally adjust to ever increasing energy costs, and make smart decisions. It is also an opportunity for us to invent our way out of the worst effects of peak oil, and least in wealthy countries. After all, we once fought wars over salt, because it could preserve food.

I would have to go back to a happier time and buy myself a VW Beetle. I would probably go through the trouble of sneaking a new (Old) bettle in from Mexico, while I made my VW eco-mobile.

Another 1gen xB. How can you find another car with these descriptions: Short, roomy; boxy, save gas; small engine, sporty(Toyota advertised); ugly, "I love it",.....

I would probably hunt down a first gen Metro if I totalled my truck. If my drivetrain was still good, I might hunt down a Samurai or Tracker/Sidekick and put my parts in.
