1988 was an interesting year:

from Detailed specs review of 1988 Lancia ECV 2 (model for Europe concept ). This is an interesting site, for data on cars built since 1945, including gear ratios and tire sizes if you dig a little.
the Italdesign Asgard, Aspid and Aztec. The site, Classic Car: Italdesign Aztec on Ebay! seems a little sketchy; in this browser at this location opening the page spawns 9 new windows that just say "Do not accept traffic."

Can't find this one in this thread, so here it is. Wikipedia calls it the Taylor Aerocar 3 and says it's first flight was 1949, but I think this is the later 1960 edition:
It has hardware that looks a little like a sixties bug, mini, or fiat.

I don't know the history of crack, but it appears to have been available to Mr. Jerome back then.

That poor old Hudson!
I wonder how it handles in high-speed corners.

It's ... a mess.
It appears to have a sliding door(s)?

I suspect there is a size beyond which mpg is adversely affected...
