COOLFLO-COOLER

A superb way to burn up an air-cooled engine.

www.superfly-autos.com/2020/07/26/the-coolflo-cooler-is-one-of-a-kind-slammed-volkswagen-camper-by-the-coolflo-guys/

It's a clothing brand not an oil-cooler brand.

And how do you know it's not a Subaru boxer? The article I found skips over the suspension mods and engine.

They should stick to clothing ( maybe not ).
They ruined the Cd.
They ruined the frontal area.
It would be uncontrollable in a crosswind.
A great candidate for blow-over.
As a '68 - on, she'd still have the upright cooling shroud, oil-cooler and compromised #-3 cylinder.
She's a stretched exhaust-valve waiting to happen.
A wasser-boxer wouldn't excuse the stupidity.

It's slammed, so the reduction boxes had to go, it would need to be a big bore dual port maybe even with a ty 3 fan or later era bus cooling. Hump in under the table is lowish looking.
It's british so it probably doesn't do highways. They are based in London, so
knowing about their smog controls it isn't diesel or carbed.

Yeah, it would be a handful on a windy day, but I bet it doesn't go far or often. Maybe like the pickups in a R C WILLEYS showroom.

Agreed. I just don't know why they carry a spare tire.

No more drag than the South African Class-A conversions. www.thedrive.com/.../hit-the-road-in-this-ultra-rare-1966-vw-bus-split-window-camper-conversion

Quote:
According to its seller, this camper was converted from a 1961 VW bus by a South African camper company called Jurgens, which called its Type 2-tailored addition the Autovilla. It was, per an owners' fansite, one of about 1,000 built, only a handful of which were the rare split-window models.

VW Types 2s are glacially slow even at the best of times, and that trait is only exaggerated by the camper's added drag and weight. Like the Autovilla tested in 1979 by a magazine whose scans can be found on The Samba, this Autovilla is powered by VW's carbureted, air-cooled 2.0-liter flat-four, which sent about 70 horsepower and 82 pound-feet of torque through a four-speed manual transmission to the rear wheels.
The later Autovilla:

My own thinking on the subject:

coolflo vs '61 model setup

Seems like the Coolflo has more frontal area and it's cabover leading edges are a disadvantage.
All will suffer separation and vorticity on the vertical edges.
Enormous wakes.
Really mediocre.
Ignorant.
Lower cost manufacturing at the expense of a planet.

every teardrop

Without education, a consumer would have no knowledge of the implications associated with a two-dimensional shape in a three-dimensional world.
That's how we unwittingly lose the battles and the war.
