Countach design

Marcello Gandini of Bertone is credited with the design.
At 0.42, the Lamborghini's Cd was considered impressive for its time.

Peter Rawlinson talking about the "vortex induction" for the cooling systems that let them minimize the frontal area of the intakes on the Lucid Air. He shows the whole system taken apart so you can see how it works. Pretty clever.

https://youtube.com/nGan_iPPdqk?t=781

At 22 minutes, he mentions CDA a bit, too

EDIT: I give up on making this thing embed.

IIRC GraysGarage went on from Ecomodder to work at Lucid Air on that.

ecomodder.com/forum/showthread.php/lucid-air-34859

I found a video on the car I couldn't remember that had downforce with no wing. It's the Peugot 9X8:

Those side troughs between the cabin and fenders are important to feed the afterbody.

I always thought of the California Clean look for Beetles was for 'easy-to-clean-off'. Comes now the Ferrari F80.

I'd not want to be in charge of detailing that.

Electricity and fans go together like peanut butter and chocolate:
thedrive.com: Watch an Electric Fan Car Shatter the Goodwood Hill Climb Record
The acceleration and outright speed of the thing is simply violent.

Reminds me of two things. I was aerodynamicist for a 1/10th scale RC car in the mid-90s that left a trail of dust suspended in the air like this.

The other is a Salem, OR car club that was named the Portland Street Sweepers.

Ford GT 2016 has almost the same design.
When you look at it too long, you will see a streamlined body design and some panels that make the car look like a regular car.

They were quoting an economy improvement over the regular Smart back then, so with the Cdi diesel engine I reckon 100mpg wouldn't be out of the question.
