I actually snipped it on the other side of that connector. In hindsight, that may not have been the best choice, since you have to disconnect that connection and pull that harness through the firewall to remove the engine. It would have been easier if I snipped it right about where you have your screwdriver.
Sweet. Now I just need the relay and switch to arrive!

Done! It does take 2-3 seconds of holding the switch for the engine to fully shut off. I also wired a safety switch into mine. I need that switch on before I can push the momentary switch. I wanted to be able to turn it off so I don't hit it by accident.

Now I need to practice bump starting at speeds and coming up to stop signs. I tried bump starting at 5 mph or so and the car came to a stop, without starting. Oops...

Heh, yeah, it can do that. What gear were you in?

I typically bump start in 5th down to about 20mph, 4th down to 10mph, and use the starter if I'm below that.

I was in 2nd at 5 mph. Next time I'll just hit the starter when going that slow.

I also did most of the bump starting in 4th. I'll try 5th next time.

I regularly bump start it rolling backwards out of the driveway...I figure any time I can avoid using the starter, saves wear and tear. So, it can be done at very low speeds.

It can, I just need practice! Though, I can start mine in reverse fairly easily rolling down my driveway backwards...

Sarguy, got any pics of the final install? I have an 02 civic lx and was curious where you put your switches and relay. Thanks to this thread I've identified the yel/blk wire behind the glovebox, and am planning on adding a kill switch soon.

Darcane, did you resolve the issue with your Ultragauge cutting off when you hit the kill switch?

Here you go...the safety switch is next to the fog lamp switch and the momentary switch is the silver one.

Exceptionally clean and good looking. I like the attention to little detail a lot.

Thanks! That's exactly where I was thinking of putting the momentary switch. The safety switch is a good idea, given that the kill switch could get bumped in that location.
