I actually rode the bus today . It wasn't as bad as I imagined.

At first I was appalled at the $2.25 required to get on, but really, I traveled 16 kilometres total. The total running cost of my Geo has been around 16.5 cents/km (probably more for city driving) so it technically would've cost me $2.64 to use the Geo for the same trip anyway.

I, of course, got lost between transfers. It took me about an hour to get to my destination.

After you get used to public transportation, it can seriously rock. It is so much more relaxing to be able to sit back and not care about the roads. No need to stress because it won't make the driver go faster, and you always have someone else to blame if that worries you. You can sit back and listen to some music or read.

If you figure in the extra time spent on a car (repairs and maintenance) and assigned a monetary value to all the hassles, public transportation really starts to win out.

I totally agree. I was even surprised that some of the bus stops in Winnipeg have enclosures that are quite warm. Still, it definitely will take some getting used to... you mean I have to share the same air with people?! Lol, just kidding.

Talking You could still do "Gop Tear"

I am glad you are safe and reasonably unharmed.
The Metro would look great going around the course driven by "The Stig" (could he even get in with his helmet and fire gear on?)

Jeremy-"So as you see the Stig is pushing it hard into the corner there, Oh now he's got the Rock & Roll on yes I think he's going to beat the Lambo time. No wait he's pulling over for a spot of tea.
Amazing handling and precision for a car that is missing most of its front sheet metal.
Ah now he's losing it in the Gambon Corner. ..."

Any way it is gonna be a little harder to sell now.
Ad - " Needs TLC. $2500 OBO "
" Pre-Disastered ..."
" The chances of two accidents in one vehicle life are ..."

Take care.

That is exactly why I don't use public transportation anymore unless the route is exactly the same as I would use in my car and there are no transfers.

I used to take the bus everyday to go to work. I did it for 2 years till last summer, but I got tired of the 45 minutes trips + waiting for the bus versus 15 minutes in a car.

metroshultz - funny description

tazdrouille - I'd take my bike pretty much any time rather than the bus if the weather was nice. I checked the 'plan a trip' site for my home city and it was much worse. To go from my old house when I was a kid to where I currently live by car would take about 9-11 minutes on the 100km/h freeway, but by bus I'd have to go all the way downtown, transfer and then get to my current house. Total estimated time? 77 minutes! I'd rather walk.

I try to look for humor in everything now.
as opposed to
Always being angry that the world wasn't doing what I wanted it to.

I am truly glad you are OK
The other driver is good also?
I don't remember you mentioning his welfare.
Am I suffering from C.R.S.?

The other driver and passenger were uninjured. Annoyed I'm sure, but they were cooperative. Their vehicle's damage looked to consist of a dented driver-side front quarter panel, a cracked front bumper corner, and a front wheel with significant camber.

What is C.R.S.? I hope it's not Cytokine release syndrome!
