Making the Ioniq slippier

Rivnuts really like to pop out of the plastic trim versus the metal sections. Second time this has happened in different spots

The upset section is a minor diameter increase, not enough to stop or avoid the plastic elongation. Do you have enough space to put a washer on the back side or is it a truly blind install?

May try pizza pans for front wheels but not liking the “ curve” on the edges. Any suggestions for a super flat but sturdy material I could use as a wheel cover?

Why would you want super flat? A slight crown adds strength. Flat surfaces will show any imperfection when they are rotating.

Get some (oversize?) pizza pans, drill a small hole in the center and spin form them just like Moon does. Steel would be harder than aluminum, but I think two handheld caster wheels might do it.

id only attach them for long road trips because constantly applying duct tape is a pain. id do thin abs plastic, but cutting a perfect circle would be too hard

MOTORTREND aero-modded a Porsche GT3 for a long-distance mpg test and made 'janky' coroplast wheel covers, zip-tied onto the wheels.
Just to see what they did, you might cobble something like that together, just long enough to see if they made a showing.
'Flat' covers make a great diaphragm, drumhead. You'd have to appraise how much your wheels could support them against 'flutter.'

I have experimented with flush coroplast wheel covers. You can make a compass out of an old yardstick with a hole drilled for a screw to spin it in the coroplast and another hole for a sharpie marker. Cut them out with old fashioned tin snips. I used 3 wire ties each and just snipped them to remove them. I did a study of them if you search posts started by me. There was a slight improvement but I think I get more of an improvement from my homemade belly pan/diffuser.
