Can we say kammback metro sedan anyone? I would imagine with the sedan you would create a much smaller wake then the hatchback. Thus improving the Cd even more.

You could certainly get more profile (roofline) taper with a Kammback mod on the sedan than the hatch, and without extending past the rear bumper.

Plan taper is complicated a bit by the "shoulders" of the trunk, but I'm not sure how much of an impact that would have.

Here's something I threw together in Google SketchUp to illustrate what I have been thinking. This is obviously not the best car I could make, but the best car I could make with my experience with this tool and a short amount of time. This is how I think it may look with the "shoulders" being made out of something clear like plexi, and the rest being more flexible for what would be left clear. I think if anything ever happened to my rear window, instead of replacing it I would look into removing the trunk lid and making a "fastback hatch" that would pivot through the window opening. Obviously the orange is what has been added on to the white car.
