You got 4 times the population of new Mexico crammed into the area of 2 new Mexico counties, there was only ever one possible logical outcome to doing that.
So what is the population density where we cut of Federal aid?

55% of the US population lives in Metro areas greater than 1 million people.

Plus if he did save them they would still vote for biden.
That's pretty darn hardhearted. Political rivals need to be overcome by superior ideals, not lack of aid and compassion. Even if someone's going to spit in my face after rescuing them, it's still the right thing to do.

As far as NYC goes, this is kind of on the governor, I just really can't understand why he can't declare martial law and stop people from going on the street or lining up at the store. They did it in New Rochelle, it's time to expand that to NYC proper. Actually, it was time to do that 2 weeks ago.

Shutting down all the bars and clubs and restaurants was over a week late as well.

Of course, being part Japanese I grew up taking my shoes off in the house even though the floors were half disintegrated linoleum. I take my shoes off in others homes out of respect and habit. Don't know why Muricans think wearing shoes indoors is even comfortable, cleanliness aside.

Harbor Freight donated entire supply of relevant PPE to emergency rooms

Everyone received this e-mail, right?

Quote:
[W]e’ve decided to donate our entire supply of the personal protective equipment items listed below to front line hospitals with 24 hour emergency rooms in the communities served by our stores.

• N95 Masks
• Face Shields
• 5 and 7 mil Nitrile Gloves
I didn't even know they sold N95 masks! Now I want one!

redpoint5 — It's an architectural problem. In anime there's always an antechamber where you can stand inside and take them on /on.

At my place I'd have to add an enclosed porch.

Well, I get that the Japanese have a dedicated area for removing shoes, but anyone can have a point after entering that shoes are no longer worn. We put our shoes in a 2'x2' area next to the door. It probably helped that we were poor enough that I only ever had 1 pair of shoes. Boots (used in sheep pastures and barn) stayed on the porch.

To understand why a high dose of chloroquine kills you must know what it does.

Chloroquine kills cells. It triggers apoptosis, the orderly process in which a cell destroys its own DNA, RNA and all other reactive molecules to prevent damage to the organism once it ruptures.

A mild chloroquine dose won't trigger healthy cells but virus stricken cells will react. Apoptosis will also end virus production within the cell, reducing the spread.

Without chloroquine a virus infected cell will continue producing virus until it can function no more. It will then die (necrosis) and rupture, releasing its virus content and reactive content infecting and damaging the cells around it.

I think chloroquine is an essential medicine but it must be used with great care.
It has been used against malaria and liver cancer (a.o.) but it is easy to see why other medicine, if available, is preferred.
Also, if a virus learns to block apoptosis then chloroquine will lose its effectiveness. Chloroquine must remain an if all else fails medicine.
