I've been walking yesterday, but it isn't safe to do so anymore.
After a week of working from home everybody goes walking or biking and the trails are busy. Parks and any lane with trees are popular.
I hold my breath every time I pass someone but it gets tiresome fast.

Beach resorts ask to not come to the beaches. The government strongly advises to keep a meter and a half distance from other people, but that's completely impossible on our beaches!
Forest walkways have waiting lines for entry...
I don't get it. Lemmings don't really commit suicide after all, why do we?

I can walk about in an industrial zone and meet nobody.

I hear that coronavirus is good for the environment. Pollution is down, wildlife is frolicking, and organized monkey gangs roam the streets.

Wait.

If 10% of the human population dies, it will bring us back to 2011 levels.

That is crazy! The human population increased by at least 750 million in nine years!

For some reason the Daily Mail claims this can be adapted for nine patients. It is possible, but nine patients with similar size, lung capacity, and status?

The Oregon State Fairgrounds are being utilized for administering tests I believe, and could be used to triage if necessary.

I received a message from my internet provider that they are suspending the fee for exceeding the data cap for a couple months. Seems the wrong thing to do when we're likely going to saturate internet infrastructure. I'll shift any downloads to early morning hours to help ease the burden.

Scott Adams mentioned last week that a ventilator can be modified to serve 4 patients. Obviously it's sub-optimal, otherwise we'd just use it that way all the time. Sub-optimal is better than nothing sometimes. As they say in CPR class, bad CPR is better than no CPR.

He does not show symptoms and feels fine, but is self-quarantining. He was tested due to his extensive travel, but he has not seen any of his staff recently because everyone is working from home.

De Blasio is asking Trump to send military medical staff to NYC to set up field hospitals. To date Trump has refused to give that order.

Turnip announced that he was sending the Army Corp of Engineers to build hospitals in Washington and New York and that he already sent respirators, ventilators, surgical masks, face shields, coveralls and gloves, and surgical gowns. He specified how many of each, over half a million respirators total, but no, he did not announce sending any medical staff to work in those field hospitals.

Trump said medical stations of 1,000 beds will be set up — and that supplies such as N95 respirators, surgical masks, face shields, surgical gowns, coveralls and gloves have been sent to New York.

“Four large medical stations of 1,000 beds. These are very complex places, actually, with great equipment and great people.”

China’s recommendation to use chloroquine in treatment was quickly followed by a warning. Two days after the treatment guideline update, health authorities in Hubei province — China’s worst-hit region where the outbreak started and which accounted for majority of its over 80,000 patients — asked hospitals to closely watch for, and immediately report, any adverse side effects of chloroquine phosphate, according to a report in local media outlet The Paper. The drug is known to have short-term side effects such as nausea, diarrhoea and tinnitus while long-term use can irreversibly impair eyesight. It’s forbidden for pregnant women as it can cause congenital defects in babies.

China Health Commission revised the dosage in a February 29 notice tightening chloroquine use. The drug cannot be given to pregnant women, those with heart disease, terminal liver and renal disease, retina and hearing loss and patients on antibiotics such as azithromycin and steroid. It can now be given only to patients between 18 to 65 years of age for a seven-day treatment course.

[Dr Anthony Fauci explained] that the FDA is looking for a way to make the drug available for emergency use, but in a manner that gives the government data about whether it’s safe and effective.

On February 25, Shanghai-based The Paper reported that [a woman in Wuhan] took 1.8 grams of the drug she ordered online after suspecting she had the coronavirus. She did not, but the drug caused her to develop malignant cardiac arrhythmic, which can cause sudden death, and she was admitted to the intensive care unit.

Plus if he did save them they would still vote for biden.

China and Taiwan stopped the virus in cities. It’s doable. Plus as people flee NYC they go... ...other places. Maybe soon to a neighborhood near you.
