New York had a slight drop in deaths. Is this the beginning of the plateau?

I am cautiously optimistic. Cuomo says this may be a blip: Daily Death Toll in N.Y. Sees a One-Day Drop, Cuomo Says: Live Updates

Meanwhile, the pandemic is just warming up in New Jersey, which they say is a week behind New York.

I guess that I should stop hoping that it plateaus in three days like that chart predicted.

breitbart.com: Report: Fired Commander of Aircraft Carrier Captain Crozier Tested Positive for Coronavirus*
Quote:
Until the Times‘ report on Sunday, there was no indication that Crozier himself had tested positive for coronavirus, or was exhibiting symptoms himself.

It is not clear whether he had those symptoms at the time of his writing the memo, which was dated Monday, March 30. The memo leaked to the Chronicle the next day, Tuesday, March 31. Crozier was fired on Thursday, April 2.

“It is unclear when he was first tested for Covid-19 or when he received his results,” according to the Times.

www.contagionlive.com: Results from a Controlled Trial of Hydroxychloroquine for COVID-19 APR 04, 2020
Quote:
The trial results were posted on medRxiv, a non-peer reviewed site which expedites access to new research, often preceding peer reviewed publication. This report with 62 patients appears to be an initial phase, with the trial registration (unique identifier ChiCTR2000029559 on the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry) describing a target of 300 patients and the testing of a twice daily dose of 100mg as well as the 200mg.

The trial is 1 of 23 that are, or will be testing hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine against COVID-19 on the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry. Of these, 18 are randomized controlled trials of the agent for acute treatment, not in combination with an antibiotic.

There are currently 3 controlled trials outside of China listed at ClinicalTrials.gov, which will be assessing hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine for acute treatment of COVID-19, excluding trials for prophylaxis and in combination with azithromycin. The largest is a phase 3 placebo-controlled trial with anticipated enrollment of 1300 participants conducted by researchers at the University Hospital, Angers, France.

It has already started! :D

I found this on reddit:

How much is China profiting from coronavirus? How many supplies have sold out?

If this were intentional you would think they would have had a suspiciously-large stockpile, but the lack therof doesn't prove anything.

Forgot why I came. There seem to be a lot of Ecomodder-ers in the State of Oregon. Here's this: msn.com: Oregon Health Authority reports 1 new COVID-19 death, 69 new cases — 2 hrs ago

Is the curve flattening? Dare I hope?! :)

Nuts! I had almost finished a message.

I found four pages with different data for New York, but only one claimed to have complete data for New York, and since the curve just started to trend downward, the latest data was paramount.

We will see if New York gains control in the next couple of days. This estimates that New York's peak moved a day forward: https://covid19.healthdata.org/projections

However, New Jersey moved a week back!

Arizona moved back a day. Allegedly Vermont peaked on Xistday [March 23rd]

I sure hope so!

Supposedly Arizona will get continually worse for eighteen days.

How tall is a Whole Foods shopping cart?

A nurse from Arizona is leaving her seven kids to help out in New York. The news keeps talking about her and showing various selfies.

It just seems like she is trying to get attention.

Or it's the only local story they can get their hands on. Camera crews aren't allowed in the ICU.

So from now on it is better to keep a safe distance?
