I know, right?? Well that and someone seems to have stolen the clutch pedal ha ha. It had just about brand new 12 inch tires on it - can you even buy those anymore?

I never seen a Festiva with the automatic transmission. I've actually only seen a handful of them...

Ok I had to make a ruling on this one. It's kind of an eco-ride, but when I saw it was both fuel injected and a manual transmission it made the cut. Besides, even around here there aren't a lot of these left, and the ones that are are not usually this nice. It's a 1978 I think, or maybe a '79, well one of those two anyway.

A Westfalia campervan, they're nice. I'd like to make a similar setup into an old Kombi...

Dang, that is a nice Westy. Would be curious what that ends up selling for. I'd be interested in that one myself if I had room in the driveway!

I don't think it sold. That one was at the dealer auction, and any dealer will tell you that the car business pretty much closes down for December, so it's the last place you want to try and sell a camper at the end of November. If this was April it probably would have sold for a lot of money.

There were only 5 colors available in 1968-70, the closest match is L567 Ivory. It may not be a stock color, but I like it.
No kidding about April. Here's what happened last April at Barret-Jackson.

An over-restored bone stock 1963 23-window bus sold for $198,000. I've stood next to and not touched better (an OG '54 barn door with right-hand drive).

Oh good grief that was a lot of dough for that thing! There was a barn door 23 window sitting on steel wheels and 1 tire under a rotted tarp at the paid storage yard I keep my '66 Pontiac at, maybe I should find out if it's for sale! ha ha

No kidding. FYI a '63 doesn't have the semaphore turn signals.
I had a '54 barndoor. I got to drive it 5 days before it was hit in the left rear corner, and eventually sold on. (last I heard it resold for USD14K, in the 90s) While it was sitting at a body shop they offered me a '58 23-window with no sunroof for the hauling away and I turned it down. Some believe those don't even exist.
Here's what I learned about the barndoor. Those wheels should be 16". Lever action shocks in the rear and the rear corner windows are plexiglass. The gas tank is longitudinal in the left rear corner. When the drunk rednecks hit me the tank was full and it was like hammering a log, it pushed the inner bulkhead forward. That body shop didn't want to touch it.
Get pictures. They will want to see them on thesamba.com.
