Those wheels are Honda, no?

My minimum fuel economy goal is 55 mpg while averaging posted speed limits. I generally top 60 mpg. See also my Honda manual transmission specs thread.

Actually those wheels are not from any Honda. BTW today I saw a Honda Civic Stream with Argentinian plates.

Brazilian '97 Ford F-1000 4WD with a 4-cyl turbodiesel and 5-speed manual transmission

The crew-cab is an aftermarket conversion performed by Tropical Cabines

VW Bora TDI with Argie plates that I spotted a few days ago

Chevrolet Ipanema, the Brazilian version of the Opel Kadett E Caravan

Western Europeans might still be surprised to see an Opel Corsa C sedan

Argentinian Peugeot Partner with an aftermarket bi-fuel gasoline/CNG conversion

Even though many Argies still love Diesel, others prefer CNG.

Ford F-1000 with a 4-cyl Diesel, an aerodynamically-enhanced front clip, and a tonneau cover in the vestigial pick-up bed

Kia Pride, a.k.a. Ford Festiva, this one with Uruguayan plates

And since the Argentinian and Brazilian versions of the GMT400 series were fitted with smaller engines than its counterparts from other markets (including neighboring ones such as Venezuela), more specifically the 250cu.in. straight-6 tuned by Lotus, a 4.1L 4-cyl Diesel (also available in turbocharged version), and a 4.2L straight-6 turbodiesel, this short-bed C2500 with an aftermarket bodywork might qualify as eco. On a sidenote, it would be quite wise to reuse the oil used to fry the acarajé (an African-inspired treat very popular in Bahia) as an alternative fuel when it gets saturated...

How could I forget this one? The first Foton Midi that I have ever seen

It's registered in Uruguay, but I saw it near my mother's apartment in Florianópolis.

You say that like anyone knows where Florianopolis is. My mother's apartment is in Lolo. That said Lolo Florianopolis sounds like a good porn star name.

PS, I just googled it, wow! Remind me to go there first if I ever make it to Brazil.

There are better places to go. Florianópolis is not that awesome at all.

Argentinian taxi drivers take vacations in Florianópolis too

This version of the Opel Corsa B has been badged Chevrolet Sail in China, but nowadays there is another Chinese-made Chevy using this name. Anyway, this is the last remaining version of the Corsa B on the market, badged as Chevrolet Classic.

4-door Suzuki Swift hatchback, not sure if this bodystyle had been available in the U.S. and Canada.

This one has the 1.0L 3-cyl but the transmission is automatic.

I also saw recently this Toyota HiAce with Uruguayan plates.

Fitted with an indirect-injection Diesel engine and a 5-speed manual transmission, I'm sure it would be a great test mule for experiences with vegetable oils as an alternative fuel
