Cool! Good luck and remind Ben to ship my springs out I'll remind him too.

Help help -
For some reason it seems like the dc-dc inverter is not inverting. So, what we have is an IMA light AND a battery light, which means that the car just ends up dead on the side of the road with no battery life to speak of. I have read something on IC about a dc-dc enable mod, but it's very vague as to how to do it ( Dead IMA battery, now 12v battery light on? - Insight Central: Honda Insight Forum). Does anyone know?
Help, help!

That's funny. I've been itchin' to have a drag race with another Metro for a long time now!
Ben gets in trouble with the law in his "sporty hybrid"! Awesome photo, bikeracer.

Bikeracer posted your DTC's over at InsightCentral, and here's my response:
Quote:
Is this in the IRX or Superhatchy? IRX is going to have issues, being a non-native swap of an Insight powertrain into a CRX. Whenever a Check Engine light is on, I check out the codes from lowest to highest:
P0453 - fuel tank pressure sensor
P1298 - Electrical load detector circuit high voltage - this sounds like the one you want to correct today - see p 11-164
P1523 - Brake booster pressure sensor is not installed
P1542 - Heater control panel not installed
P1576 - ABS Operation Signal circuit problem - this is an IMA input. When the ABS is in operation, there will be no assist or regen.
P1649 - Motor drive module
Okay, that's not SuperHatchy. That's definately the IRX.
p 11-164 describes how to test the Electric Load Detector (ELD) and how to test the wiring going to the ELD. The manual doesn't tell me where the ELD is, but here's an interesting exhcange that mentions its location.

Your P0453 may require you to upgrade your EVAP system, but I think the rest of them can be spoofed without consequence.

While I'm here, I have a question. I'd like to connect an inductive ammeter to measure the car's electrical load while driving. Where does the DC/DC converter wiring leave the IMA box, and can I get a sensor around it before it branches off to the underdash/underhood fuseboxes?

Go Ben, Go! ( = Darin can't help , but can offer moral support.)
I can't wait for this swap to be sorted out and on the road. The IRX is what the hybrid Honda CR-Z was hoping to be, but seemed to miss in so many ways.

Car's all together, DC/DC converter is working, battery hopefully won't be dying!
Patrick and I are just packing up so we can head back to school. I won't promise any updates since there might be problems and even if there's not I'll probably be dead tired when I get back and just fall asleep.
Exciting to have the car up and going though.
