When I arrived at his house to him weld up those axles, the garage door was open and he was sitting there with about three coats on...it was about 25 degrees and the sun was still out. He's one determined dude to work in those conditions for several weeks.
I sure wished I coulda made it over there a few more times to help out...

So glad to hear the axles don't vibrate.

Here's to Spring Break!!!!

Very slim chance, but high coolant temps can also come from a kinked coolant hose near where the sensor reads.

Learned that from personal experience, ughh...

Oil Filter relocation kit.
Good progress. I can't wait for continued updates. This is one sweet build!

I'm with funny.
Been there, done that, no big deal.
You could also consider a bypass while you are at it . . .

Yeah, it was really cold the last night working with the wind. I ordered a pizza and it was freezing by the time I got to the third slice (and I eat fast).

Anyway, it got up to around 220F, a little too toasty, so I killed it, don't think it's hurt though, but I'm guessing it was just air in the lines. Thank god I had Will's SGII since the gauge cluster isn't reading out coolant or I wouldn't have even known!!!

A good friend (bikeracer is his handle here) is going to be driving down to Princeton soon perhaps for PHD stuff, so I will hitch a ride and try to finish up the car on the fast so I can have it and impress you all finally

The plan is for this weekend. Three days. We'll see if his IRX can outdo a gen1 insight missing its underbody panels on the trip back.

How fast are you planning on driving down? If you can keep it to 63mph, you should be able to lean burn most of the way. Or you might decide 55mpg is good enough, and go 74mph.

You should have a drag race: Both of you get up to 55mph, side by side, and shift to N at the same time. Whoever rolls farthest, wins.

A stock Insight has a slight aero advantage over a stock CRX, but if you have snow tires on, Ben's LRR Potenzas should be enough for him to win.

Good idea with the powerless drag race. Mine has snow tires on the front, too. I might have to put my bald potenzas back on if it's going to be this serious.
