Mullet: as long as they leave the Kammback itself, I won't be too mad!
I thought about doing a high-mounted light. But the OEM center mounted light is still fully visible at the bottom of the hatch glass. If/when I do a removable boat tail extension, then I'll have to come up with something.

that looks really cool...I wonder if you will be stopped by the cops for that thing being so low. Maybe you can put a mirror on the dash instead of the windshield so they might let you off for bring able to see out the back still.
Since its removable I would take it off to paint it...I think you will find that to be much easier to do.

can you post a picture from straight behind the vehicle so we can get a better idea of how low it is.

Binger - agreed about painting. I'll paint it off the car. I did the rough construction on the car, but since then I've had it on & off dozens of times to do & check the finishing work.
Re. rear view: on a level road, I can just see the horizon below the edge of the Kammback with the rear view mirror adjusted normally. So I'm OK there. But I will get a pic from straight behind as well.
Edit: a dash mounted mirror is a good idea though - I could have made the extension even longer

Darin, you could skip the trim buttons, and tell anyone who asks, that the fasteners are really stealth vortex generators! Good looking! Now come to Texas,I've got about 300-years worth of projects you can help out on!

Well, got the first coat of gloss black on it this weekend.
The transition from flat grey primer (which hides a lot, visually) to the black was a little disheartening. Let's just say a true professional would have much more work ahead (ripples & waves) before it was deemed "good"...
But it's "good enough" for me.
I was hoping to have it done today, but nope! And I'm going to be away for the next 2 days. So no more pics until Wednesday at the soonest.
Except for this one, binger's request to see the view from directly behind:

When I first looked at that photo, I was confused because it blended in with the garage door. Heh.
When you next take pictures with it mounted, would you mind getting one of the whole car from maybe 4:30 o'clock (12:00 being straight ahead)? I'm interested in what it looks like in the whole body's context.
