Did you modify your wheel covers so they were flatter (covering openings)? Was there a thread about that where you showed exactly what you did or anything?

Nothing fancy, just wet sanding smooth between coats.
KJsatz: yes, the wheel cover holes are ... covered. With shapes cut out of plastic. I used the wrong kind of adhesive though, so two of the pieces (of the total) have come off. No special thread about them.

This evening I wet sanded the areas that bubbled/cracked after the latest coat. Lightly layered a few more coats on top, and they appear OK now. Tomorrow I'll wet sand and apply the last coat then get some better pics for the complainers. (Too shiny, my butt!)

Are those dents in the side of the kammback on the side picture, or is that just the camera playing tricks?

Dents, ripples, waves. It's got 'em all (but nothing big enough to seriously affect functionality). Black is an awful colour to use if you're not good at bodywork...

Well, sorry to say it, but I've officially given up on trying to get a halfway decent finish from a spray can.
Coat #3 looks like crud - combination of operator error, deficient materials, and black that shows everything, making it too hard to get uniform results over a large area.
Time to abandon aesthetics and move on to other projects!
Maybe I'll reconsider a proper re-spray next year after I see how the structure stands up to the winter.
The good news is the air doesn't really care about the paint job.

Nice job. Dude, I just noticed your painted "hubcaps". That is totally sweet!

This is interesting. Are you going to do something similar on the Forkenswift? Might be able to get a few extra km range!

No plans to aero mod the EV - remember its average speed is probably somewhere around 25-30 km/h (19 mph).
