Coanda jet has also been applied in the development of novel aircrafts for short takeoff, while another circulation enhancement technique known as Trapped Vortex Cavity (TVC) is currently being given significant considerations.
Airfoil flow separation delay using trapped vortex cavity
https://areeweb.polito.it/flowcontro...ex.php/topic-2

Quote:
For the success of a trapped vortex cavity effect is essential to maintain stable the vortex inside. To this end the vortical motion have to be controlled using a suitable technique. The cavity presents a porous portion of wall inside for the control of the vortex operated through a suction. Pressure distributions around the airfoil and wake analysis were performed other than pressure fluctuations inside and downstream the cavity using Kulite pressure transducers.

Stabilising the trapped-vortex flow is a challenge. Future work would aim at feedback control of such a flow, as illustrated in Fugure 3.

1956, many years before Chaparral's and Lola's of the mid-1960's used giant mid-wings.

PDF on aerodynamics.

The cavity box they test is 1/3rd the wingspan, but the structure would double the weight.

Actively managing flow separation seems expensive compared to a canard with more pitch to prevent it.

This is in my albums:

Do you have a diagram or article explaining what you mean?

Sounds like you are staying with level flight and NOT increasing angle of attack at all.

Close coupled vs long arm canard

Pick one from here: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=stall-proof+canard+wing

I'm not sure how canards affect the short take-off part.

I'm not sure what I'm looking at here.
Stainless steel panels to protect from road grit (Segment protectors). Unnecessary and ugly. Like jowls on a dog. Ruins the lines.

The vertical box is the propane tanks. Which were and could still be made horizontal to fit under nose and above frame. (Below an example with the whale-sized AVION 34’ basement model; a 1989 contemporary to mine which is far lower in height but hire the tanks in body. AS once did same ).

Just A Car Guy: Abrams P-1 Explorer, made just before WW2, put on hold during the war, and obsolete after the war. Created for aerial photography, the windows were the first to be formed on a compound curve in history.
