Take a look at mine (see link in sig.)
underbelly 2.0......just the rear in black coroplast..
I curved it back(around the angle piece, up all the way to the underbody ABOVE the rear axle. THen detailed around the rear of the wheel well to seal it.

I used the rear slot to vent air out of the covered space.
Dont think it really matters.

yeah i bent/curved mine up very similar to yours, obviously yours was a huge help in getting mine figured out. And i double checked your thread and couldnt' see that area in the revised black version at the rear. so a picture of what you detailed around the wheel wells would be terrific. It's tough for me to figure out what to mount to there because drilling isn't the best idea on the inside of the wheel well.

Yeah the rear slots bothered me because if I covered them up then any water/debris draining from the top of the trunk and vertically down from the bumper would crawl back in between the car and the top of the panel. So i designed that to be open so it could drain properly. I also imagined that's what the designer of the rear lip made the slots for so I figured it would be great to integrate the diffuser to function with the slots.

Once again thanks for your thread, couldn't do it with your info.

Thank you for your kind words!
I REALLY like the aluminuum!!!!
I folded the cp up over the exiesting wheel well plastic and then taped it off w/ gorilla tape. you need to clean up the wheel well and get all the road film off.
THe tape has been there for about 20k miles

I used some thin aluminum flashing to extend the fender liners down to the edge of the colorplast. I have run it through two Colorado winters without a problem. You can see photos in my album on this site. Fuel Economy, Hypermiling, EcoModding News and Forum - EcoModder.com - COcyclist's Albums

thanks for the reply mcrews! those pictures help a ton, It looks like I might have to go the tape route for sure. There is just too many curves to make any coroplast work cleany in that area. I'll be sure to post some pics once I tackle it. I might even post pictures of what I have to deal with, because it's pretty messy. Since i added an aftermarket rear lip this area is even more tricky than it should be.

COcyclist thanks for your post also your pictures def help, I might consider using that material here also. and I like your wording "fender liners" that's the proper term here.

I worked on the fender liner/mudflap area last night.

I ended up throwing a piece right around the location of the oem mudflap, and lined it up with my attachment angle. It was about 6" tall and as wide as it could fit. One screw and a snug fit is all it is. no tape. Still nothing on the sides like COcyclist posted with his flashing on the fender liner, but I am confident the snow won't go side ways to much.
Will post pictures when possible....
fingers crossed, snowboarding is here finally !

I imagine that each car offers a slightly different challenge but once you jump in the solutions tend to evolve!!!
