Cool Rental Car Ecomods?

Let's build a list of ideas for ecomodding and hypermilling rental cars.
1)Bring an air pressure guage and put tires to max sidewall.
2)See if you can manually push the wipper blades under the hood lid.
3)Bring a piece of cardboard and some zipties and fashion a partial grill block.
Bring something to cut the ties when you stop to fill up before returning the car.
4)Stop at a gas station (not right at the airport since they are more expensive) and top off the tank. Then watch the guage and see how many miles before it gets from past F back to F. This is how far you stop from the airport on your return to fill up.

Please add more ideas.

As I am part owner in a car rental company I say don't do any of these things. Well ok, do them to the big chain rental place cars all you want, but honestly we have enough trouble keeping our stuff safe and reliable without someone breaking the wiper arm transam etc. You'd really be amazed what people manage to do to cars under the guise of "normal use". Plus I already max out the sidewall pressure on everything we rent out just out of habit!

I would sneak a 250hp wetflow nitrous kit onto one of the cars, WW.

Didn't Cars Illustrated or one of the Mopar mags blow a rental Neon engine up with a cobbled together juice kit?

That's a more thorough list than I've come up with. I air the tires up and plug in my SG or UG, and go. Thanks!

Ya that sounds familiar. I just know all the bad rental car karma I racked up in the past is going to come back to haunt me now. Bottle rocket fights INSIDE the car, getting air over railroad tracks, oh man I am in for it.

Or try to rent the Prius and relax.

I rented a Kia Soul over teh weekend. The temperature was 105 degrees in the shade, so there was no need to a HOI.

Actually the A/C in the car worked great and it got decent mileage. I would rent it again, if there were no Focus's or Prius's available.

National rental car company says, you can take any car in rows A or B. Most of the cars in A and B are gas hogs!

I can believe that. The majority of calls we get either ask for something "cheap on gas" or a minivan. So more than likely all the cars left over at the big guys are going to be the ones that suck fuel and still only seat as many people as the economy cars do.
