I reversed my driver side mirror delete yesterday. And it's like meeting an old friend again after a long separation. Awww. And the "A-Pillar" is quieter than when I had that fool scooter mirror on as a dummy to keep the police away until I could reverse the mod or decide on an aftermarket one. I think the stock mirror is quite an aero-object. I took out a lot of the guts of the thing to lighten it slightly. I'll keep the passenger one removed.

Rather than start a new thread, I dug up this relevant one...........I reversed 2 of my ecomods this weekend (on my Mustang). I reduced the air pressure in my tires from 40 PSI down to 35 PSI. And I removed my pizza pan wheel covers. The combination of 40 PSI in the tires and the pizza pans produced no significant (or even noticeable) improvement in fuel economy; The wheel covers made checking my tire pressure a 20 - minute chore every weekend; and, the main reason.... chicks didn't dig 'em.

Did you catch the part about "The combination of 40 PSI in the tires and the pizza pans produced no significant (or even noticeable) improvement in fuel economy"?

I could handle chicks not diggin' 'em IF they gave me an extra 1/2 MPG. But they didn't even make a noticeable difference in my FE.

The 20 minute chore of cleaning the dirt out from between my pizza pans and my wheels every time I checked my tire pressure (to maintain a mod that made no noticeable difference in fuel economy wasn't worth my time. That was more of a reason for removing the pizza pans than "chicks not diggin' 'em".

TBH - In terms of Aero I think a "stang" has far more problems than moon caps could address.

I think you're right.
Oh, well. 50+% over EPA isn't too bad, I guess.

It's all cool to me when people want to mod their cars or reverse their mods for the pleasure or whatever of having the car one way or another. But for the sake of methodical knowledge... how did you test for this? If you are relying on tank-to-tank differences, you can't know what effect the tire pressure and discs had. That's because there are far too many variables that will confound your results. And there are substantial tests here and even racing and mythbusters results that prove the opposite of your experience. I like to think of some mods as part of a trickle of small improvements, nearly impossible to detect sometimes, that when added up yield detectable aggregated improvements.
