Installed a Calpod switch at work tonight. Works great I think... I can start without pushing the clutch, and punching it in 1st doesn't seem to trigger assist but I haven't driven it more than 10 feet.

Add some pics of it, Balto!
I keep hearing about the Calpod here and at Insightcentral, but I have no idea how to buy or install one. How much was it?
If anybody knows of a link with some pics & instructions for installing one, I'd appreciate seeing it!

I did it while at work with a airplane toggle switch, wire cutters, and some spare wire, took me about an hour, and it only took me that long because I kept dropping things because of my sweaty hands. I'll do a full write up with pictures in about an hour and a half. It's very, very easy. I didn't even know what Calpod was 9 hours ago and I already have one installed haha.
Also, do you know what a Calpod is? Do you know what it does?

I know it bypasses the power to the clutch switch, but I'm not sure after reading endless posts at IC that I really want to do it. The thing I'm worst at is electronics! I guess I'll wait to see if you have good results before I mess with mine. Wouldn't it make more sense to have it on the shifter, not over on the dash where it seemed like everybody put theirs? Like an injector cut-off?

I'll post pics and do a full step by step writeup when I wake up, I'm far to tires right now. Anyway, it disables IMA and any form of regen with the click of a switch. I was amazed on how much more responsive the throttle is at speed with it disabled because it's not background charging the IMA. I definitely recommend you put this in, all it requires is a little splicing, it's honestly not hard. As for why people put them so far away, idk. But I have mine just left to the steering wheel.
If anyone in socal wants this done, I'll do it for you for free! It's a great mod to have and it's extremely useful.

I just stuck the wires into one of the connectors, one of the guides I found on IC recommended doing that. Worked great, I just taped the wires so they wouldn't fall out. I got a switch for a few bucks at Autozone, drilled a hole in one of the little blank pieces to the left of the wheel, and installed it there. Helped me make the most of the car even though the IMA battery was about toast.
Man, all the new Insight owners here are making me question selling mine (til I remember that my ebike doesn't need registered, insured, or gassed up).

Been a while but it's time to come back to this thread now that my overheating problem is solved.
Things that still need to be done.
EGR valve needs replacing.
New Honda OEM spark plugs.
HONDA OEM thermostat.
Vtec gasket/screen replacement.
Exhaust leak fixed.
Grid charger.
Get car transferred into my name (will probably do this tomorrow).
Registration (due in Nov).
