I didn't mean to imply Boomer bashing. I acknowledged his perspective, added my own, and accept that we're a product of our time and nature. As always, I'm against blanket sentiment, and for individual scrutiny.

I'm also constantly complaining about needless complication (and limitation). Why do banks close when the computers remain on 24/7? Every transaction should be measured in milliseconds. The fact that we still print things, fax, require notaries, have hours of operation, don't back opinion by analytics, etc, etc, is the bane of my existence.

Why do I have to "do taxes"? This is insanity combined with layers of corrupt politics that led us to this dystopian outcome of a tax code. We should all get a free punch for every single person that has ever added a line of tax code. If you aren't talking about eliminating the tax code, you're an enemy of humanity. It doesn't even matter if you're advocating for people with 1 eye, or those with one limb longer than another. You add a character to the tax code, and you're an enemy of the people.

Episode 2019. Episode 2023 can't be far behind.

Early on, the kat kartoonist talks about the rise of novelty. His reference was something called the Celestine something. He's starting to see what Robert Anton Wilson (Illuminatus, Cosmic Trigger, Coincidance) and Terence McKenna (Novelty Theory) saw some time ago.

Then he imagines a senario where Russia prevails in Ukraine.

Then he explains the octagonal UFOs.

Then he fantasizes about nuking Putin.

Listening now, and not very interested + distracted by work.

You don't dismiss "alien origin" because of the octagonal shape, you dismiss it because it's a balloon; the most primitive form of flight. Also, because space is too vast, it probably doesn't matter if there are aliens. Solving space travel likely involves breaking the universal speed limit, which also implies time travel. We know there's no time travel because someone would have visited the past, introduced technology, and repeated that cycle until an infinite technological progress had been achieved. We don't have infinite technology, ergo, no time travel, ergo, no FTL travel.

He suggests an existing commercial payload slung beneath a less visible balloon. Occam's Razor.

The most recent 3 or so episodes have been quite interesting, with today's (2027) having him flirt ever closer to the cancellation line. Lots of provocative things. Gets very interesting around 13:30. I'm completely with him in the emotional response to the facts, but not sold on his conclusions about how to respond.

I wasn't thinking in terms of him getting cancelled, so I don't see it. With Susan Wojcicki leaving Youtube, maybe getting cancelled will become less likely?

So now he has two or three candidates who are anti-cartel. The Letters of Marque sounds productive. But it's Marque and Reprisal:
Quote:

Marque and Reprisal | Georgetown Center for the Constitution ...
Pol'y 465 (2005). Explaining that "letters of marque" were authorizations for privateers to "use force to harass or prey upon a nation's enemy" and that "reprisal" was the "legally authorized act of securing redress for a debt incurred by a foreign government by forcibly taking the private property of its subjects," and ...
Tax free booty.

Didn't mean to imply he would get cancelled, just that he's always feeling around those edges. "Get away from black people" is the type of comment, taken out of context, that gets people tossed.

Anyhow, I've appreciated the consistent messaging the past few days where he dismisses all the excuses people come up with for their own failure, and says to go learn. It doesn't even cost anything to learn these days. There's never been a better time to be a black person that knows things.

Identifying as a victim is a fail strategy, even if you're an actual victim, because 'give up' and 'wait for someone to hopefully rescue me' isn't a strategy.
