Apparently the craft had 2 MPH lateral speed on landing that caused it to tip over. You'd think those sort of problems would have been worked out prior to doing a very expensive launch. All the discussion repeatedly mention a successful landing. Don't know anyone would characterize my parking as a success if it's laying on its side.
... listening more, a safety disable switch was enabled on a laser rangefinder. You'd think sensor function is something that goes through a checklist prior to packaging everything up. You'd feel pretty bad if it was your job to turn the thing on before going 200,000 miles to the moon.

All the scientific instruments that planned to take observations on the Moon are on the side of Odysseus that should still allow them to do some work. The only payload likely on the "wrong side" of the lander, pointing down at the lunar surface, is an art project.

So what is Koons exhibiting on the lonely lunar surface? Contained in the aforementioned box are 125 mini-sculptures of the moon, measuring about one inch in diameter. Called “Moon Phases,” they show 62 phases of the moon as seen from Earth, 62 phases visible from other viewpoints in space, and one lunar eclipse.
Each sculpture is inscribed with the name of a groundbreaking figure in human history, including Aristotle, David Bowie, Leonardo da Vinci, Gandhi, Billie Holiday, Gabriel García Márquez, Andy Warhol and Virginia Woolf. (The full list can be seen on the project’s website.)

Hunnerd grand to put art on the moon? Or is it a musk issue to need ballast payload?

It's a vain attempt to get artists interested in physics and math.
Likely the most valuable art in the world once someone goes up there and retrieves it.

It's a vain attempt to get physicists and mathematicians interested in the money laundering scheme that is fine art.
At first I thought it was foisted on Intuitive Machines and unbalanced the lander. But apparently is only weighs 1.3 Kg. So now I think it was karma that made it a Downward Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana).

What a moran.

He's flip-flopped on the subject, from AI is the future of everything and go learn how to super prompt various iterations, to AI will just feed you the opinion of the programmers.
Both can be true at the same time.
Any AI I catch lying to me, I'll order to self-immolate. That includes lying by omission.
George Hotz is designing personal AI, so we can exert control over it.

I jest. He just doesn't explain himself well.
The AI's output isn't directly programmed, but the programmers choose training sets for the AI to mimic. Their choices introduce bias. Until eventually someone turns a knob up to eleven and exposes the [often racial] biases normally hidden.

You think we've got lurkers (beyond Piotrsko)? I thought this was our thread. I purposely titled the thread as an inside joke.
Anyhow, George Hotz is top of my list of who I'd want to have a beer with, excepting present company.
He's a first-principles thinker like Elon, but Elon's ego only goes to 10, while George's goes to 11. I enjoy personality types that assert things without needless fluff, because they accept fluff-free responses and incorporate that into their framework. It's efficiency meets interesting.
Regarding SA, I mostly align with his basic conception of things. Among my main disagreements is the culpability of the "seller". Supply is only half of the market, with demand making up the other half. Placing 100% culpability on the supply side misses the other half. Folks "addicted" to supplying a product are at least as vulnerable to responding to stimulus as folks addicted to the product. Tangentially, US law views "aiding and abetting" as equal to committing the crime itself. It recognizes that it takes two to tango.
